Miriam Himes

A North Carolinian native, Miriam was born and raised at the base of the Appalachian mountains and grew up living and loving all things outdoors. She stayed in-state for undergrad and graduate school where she earned a Masters in Spanish Language and Literature. This gave her the opportunity to travel to many different Spanish speaking countries where she has led previous outdoor adventure programs, taught English and Spanish, and pursued her love for exploring new cultures and communities. Since graduating in 2018, Miriam has worked as a middle and high school Spanish teacher, a Spanish Adjunct at the University of Denver and the University of North Carolina Wilmington, as well as led study abroad groups with the adventure travel group, Broadreach. When she isn’t working, Miriam loves to go for long bike rides or runs, and tries to spend as much time as possible in the beautiful Rocky Mountains that she now calls home. Miriam is also a wilderness first responder.
