A native of Boulder, CO, Ari graduated from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA with a B.A. degree in Political Economy and International Studies. Ari is lucky to have spent extensive time living, traveling and studying abroad in Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. Most recently, Ari has been working as a field intern with Outward Bound, instructing 20-day wilderness programs with at-risk teens in Florida. Before this, Ari worked as a caseworker with homeless families for over three years. She directed the children’s/youth program in three homeless family shelters in Boulder, CO during this time. Between jobs, Ari spent a year living in South America, volunteering, learning Spanish, and immersing herself in the culture. Other long-term overseas experiences include a one-year Rotary International exchange program in Italy, living with a host-family. As a child, she lived in Chile with her family for 6 months. She is fluent in Spanish and conversational in Italian. Besides her obvious love of other cultures, Ari is a dancer and has taught dance for many years. She is also a rock climber, politically active, loves cooking, art, the outdoors and is very social.
